Jun Young Na is a choral conductor and educator who walks with Jesus Christ, envisioning a future in God. Through many years of studying and experiencing choral music in Korea and the United States, he aspires to be an instrument of God, glorifying Him and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He regards the ministry entrusted to him by God as more precious than anything in the world, serving with faithfulness and loyalty. He dreams of becoming a conductor whom God delights in and praises, inspired by the scripture:

"Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!" (Matthew 25:23)

As a devout Christian, his educational belief and philosophy are centered on becoming a true teacher who embodies servant leadership, characterized by a Christ-like desire to serve others first, even in positions of leadership and authority. His vision is to reflect God's glory through his work, using his talents to share the love and teachings of Jesus Christ with his students, singers, and audiences.

Jun Young Na recently earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting and Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During his time at CU, he distinguished himself by serving as the choral director for the CU Festival Chorus and as the assistant conductor for esteemed groups such as the CU Chamber Singers, University Choir, and Treble Chorus. Notably, he contributed as the Assistant Chorus Master for the acclaimed performance of Carmina Burana (Carl Orff) at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver in May 2023. He also obtained a master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of North Texas (2020).

 

Hailing from South Korea, Dr. Na's passion for choral music was nurtured under the guidance of Hakwon Yoon, a revered figure in the Korean Choral Society. In Korea, he achieved significant milestones directing professional choral ensembles, including the Young-do Female Chorus, Young-do Youth Choir, and CTS Youth Chorus. Additionally, he served as vice-choir director alongside Hakwon Yoon for the Busan Student Art Choir, under the auspices of the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.

Dr. Jun young Na presently serves as the choir director for the Denver Korean Christian Church. He resides in Boulder with his beloved family; his wife, Hyunju, and their two children, Minseo and Yeseo.
